Independence
CM Research provides unbiased investment research, free of conflicts of interest.
Its founder, Cyrus Mewawalla, left corporate banking in 2002 to offer clients truly independent industry analysis. Cyrus is passionate about providing his clients an independent view of the world - so passionate, in fact, that he wrote a book about it.
"City of Thieves", published by Little Brown, is a murder thriller set in the investment banking sector. Whilst the story is fiction, the issues it raises are very real. At its heart, are the conflicts of interest that remain entrenched in the global investment banking sector today. These conflicts have damaged the reputation and ability of many larger banks in producing unbiased investment research.
As a longstanding advocate of banking reform, Cyrus is regularly invited by academic institutions to discuss the future of the banking sector. His most recent lectures at The Marshall Society of Economics, Cambridge University and at INSEAD Business School have given the next generation of young bankers food for thought.
The company is based in London and is a member of EuroIRP, the European Association of Independent Research Providers.
